Eagles Nest and Natchem Wine and Perfume Pairing Event: A Sensory Experience Like No Other!

Cape Town, 29 June 2023 - Eagles Nest Wine Estate, renowned for its captivating vineyards and warm hospitality, hosted a remarkable wine and perfume pairing event in collaboration with Natchem. The event provided an intimate setting for Eagles Nest wine club members to indulge in an extraordinary sensory experience.

Set amidst the picturesque vineyards of Eagles Nest, the event embraced the essence of elegance and warmth, with a crackling fireplace keeping attendees cozy on the cold evening. Kaylee Morrick, the passionate manager of the tasting room, guided the participants through an exquisite wine presentation, showcasing the estate's finest vintages.

Natchem, a company known for its unique fragrances, added an enchanting twist to the wine tasting experience. Sales representative Jaco Botha skillfully paired Natchem’s fragrances with each wine, providing participants with a sensory journey that awakened their senses. Before and after tasting the wine, participants had the opportunity to explore the fragrances, allowing them to appreciate the intricate connection between smell and taste.

The feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing their gratitude for the immersive experience. Traditionally, wearing perfume during wine tasting is discouraged, but in this setting, Natchem cleverly utilized smelling strips with fragrance oils, accompanied by coffee beans to neutralize the olfactory senses between pairings. This innovative approach not only enhanced the wine tasting experience but also allowed participants to engage all their senses, creating a truly unique and memorable event.

In addition to the remarkable pairings, three lucky winners were randomly selected for a special prize. They received a selection of wines, paired perfumes, hand wash, and lotion, further enhancing their sensory journey beyond the event. All participants were also delighted to choose a perfume of their liking to take home, ensuring that nobody left empty-handed. This gesture added an extra touch of exclusivity and appreciation, allowing attendees to continue their sensory journey even after the event concluded.

Reflecting on the success of the event, the organizers from Natchem expressed their enthusiasm for the positive reception and the valuable lessons learned. As pioneers of this distinctive concept, they are committed to continually improving and refining future wine and perfume pairing events.
